Renegade Comics Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction and Acceptance

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

4. Intellectual Property

All original elements of the Service (design, logos, AI tools, software) are owned by Renegade Comics or its licensors.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the comics you create. By publishing or uploading, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, reproduce, distribute, and promote your comics on the Service and for marketing.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your comics (including AI-assisted ones) do not infringe third-party rights. We provide no warranty that AI outputs are original or non-infringing.

5. Content Guidelines

Renegade Comics supports bold creative freedom in the independent comics tradition.

We explicitly allow:

Fictional depictions of violence, including graphic violence, gore, intense action, horror, and mature themes, when they serve the artistic, narrative, or thematic purpose of the comic.

Period-appropriate or contextually justified language in fictional or historical works, including the use of racial slurs such as the word “nigger” when it is historically accurate and appropriate to the time period, setting, or character portrayal (for example, stories set in eras before the 1970s that realistically reflect social realities or dialogue of that time).

All mature content must be properly rated and tagged by the creator (examples: “Mature – Graphic Violence,” “Explicit Language,” “Historical/Strong Language”).

Strictly Prohibited Content

You may not create, upload, or publish:

Any sexualization or exploitation of minors (under 18), including fictional or AI-generated depictions (zero tolerance).

Content that promotes or depicts real-world child abuse, terrorism, or illegal acts.

Targeted harassment, credible threats, or doxxing of real individuals.

Gratuitous hate speech or slurs used outside of artistic/historical context to incite hatred or harass.

Spam, scams, malware, or phishing.

Any content that violates U.S. federal or state criminal laws.

We do not endorse any views expressed in user comics. We reserve the right to review, limit visibility of, remove any content, or suspend/terminate accounts at our sole discretion if we determine it violates these guidelines or creates legal/reputational risk for the platform—even if it technically falls under “allowed” categories.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or access the underlying AI models.

Use bots, scrapers, or automation without permission.

Impersonate others or create fake accounts.

Circumvent security features.

7. Purchases and Digital Products (if applicable)

Sales are final unless stated otherwise. Digital comics are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. Prices are in U.S. Dollars and subject to change.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without any warranties. The Service may contain violent, disturbing, or offensive material. User discretion is advised. We are not responsible for any emotional distress, harm, or loss caused by user-generated content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Renegade Comics shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (or $100 if none).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your use of the Service, your comics, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. Surviving sections (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) remain in effect.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico and the United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts in San Juan County, New Mexico.

13. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement. If any provision is invalid, the rest remain enforceable. We may assign these Terms; you may not. No agency or partnership is created.
